Trip Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO LIMA CITY

This day we will be waiting for you in the airport at the scheduled time and we will carry you to your hotel for resting and be prepared for the visits of the following days. Our transfer will give you all the information of the tours in the city of Lima.

DAY 2 : PACHACAMAC – GOLD MUSEUM (B, L)

Our tour starts with a panoramic view of the Pucllana Pyramid, built in the 4th century d.C. and considered “a sacred town” by the Incas. Later we will go to the Sacred Citadel of Pachacamac, the sanctuary of the God Pachacamac, creator of the universe for the ancient Andean towns.

The citadel includes temples, pyramids and palaces. They emphasize the “The Sun Temple, the “Pachacamac Temple”, the “Acllahuasi” or “Palace of the Sun’s Virgins”, among others. The whole place was considered sacred and part of the mystical axis of the world. The excursion also includes a visit to the traditional district of Barranco, place of the famous Bridge of Whispers, continuing through El Salto del Fraile, the Villa’s Swamps and enjoying spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.

After lunch at the Alfresco restaurant, our guide will take you to the Gold Museum that contains an important private collection of gold pieces from diverse pre-Columbian cultures, some of them are more than 2000 years old.

DAY 3: LIMA – ICA (B)

06:00 Hrs. Pick up to the bus terminal with destination to  Ica city.

11:30 AM Reception, arrival to the hotel

13:00 Hrs. City Tour In Ica: Main Square, Huacachina Lagoon, Cachiche (small town where witches once existed), the Palm tree of  7 heads, Helena’s artisan chocolate factory, wine cellars, tasting, temple and boulevard of  Luren.

DAY 4: PARACAS – ICA  – LIMA (B)

06:30 Hrs.  Pick up to Ica-Paracas

07:45 AM Reception, pick up to the pier.

08:00 Hrs. BALLESTAS ISLANDS TOUR: We will take our motor boats with our respective lifejackets.

We can observe sea lions, pelicans, penguins and other marine birds. Upon return we will have the opportunity to see the “Candelabro”, a giant figure of the Nazca Lines style made in the sand.

11:00 Hrs. TOUR TO THE PARACAS RESERVE: We will take our tourist mobility to enjoy an interesting tour to the Natural reserve of Paracas. We will visit the interpretation room, the viewpoints of the flamingos and the Cathedral, the fossilized Way, Red Beach, Yumaque and Lagunillas

Lunch by your own in Lagunilla (within the Reserve)

DAY 5: LIMA CITY TOUR – FLIGHT TO CUSCO (B)

Ancestral Lima: We begin our tour with a panoramic view of the “Pucllana Pyramid”, a magnificent ceremonial and archaeological center built in the 4th century AC. and considered “sacred town” by the Incas.

Colonial Lima: We visited the Historical Center of Lima, where you will appreciate more than fifty monuments and colonial buildings, highlighting the Paseo de la Republica, San Martín Square, The main Square, the Government Palace, the Archepiscopal’s Palace, the Cathedral, the City Hall Palace among others.

We visit the CENTRAL RESERVE BANK’S MUSEUM, where you will appreciate the “Treasures of Peru – Collection”, a selected exhibition of gold, ceramic and textile objects from diverse pre-Columbian cultures. We will also appreciate the MONUMENTAL SET OF SAN FRANCISCO, which is the largest sample of colonial religious art in America. Being the most notorious atractions its underground crypts known as “Catacombs”.

After the city tour we will go to the airport to catch the flight to Cusco, our staff will be waiting for you at the Cusco airport to transfer you to your hotel.

DAY 6: CITY TOUR CUSCO – SHOW DINNER. (B,D)

City Tour Cusco

Morning free for walking though the surroundings of the city and get adapted to the climate.

In the afternoon at around 13.30 a bus will pick you up and take you around upper Cusco where we will visit the ancient Inca and pre-Inca constructions Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Pucapucara and Tambomachay. Then we will explore the city center with its pre-Inca, Inca and colonial streets, visit the Inca temple “Koricancha” (The Sun’s Temple) and finally the Cathedral in the main square.

 It’s going to be an easy day walking around Cusco, getting an idea about all the different options you have in this cosmopolitan city: museums, shops, markets, restaurants and of course the best locations to spend the night.

After the tour we will go to an interesting touristic restaurant to taste a delicious dinner based on products of the region, while we enjoy a beautiful show.

DAY 7: CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS (B, L)

Tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas: Pisac and Ollantaytambo

In the morning we will pick you up at your hotel at about 8.00am and travel to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a tranquil oasis of cultural, historical, and agricultural richness just 45 minutes from Cusco where the Incas once built important cities such as Pisac and Ollantaytambo.  We will enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape during the day. Our first stop will be the typical handicraft market of Qorao for then visiting the impressive archaeological park of Pisac. After a delicious Buffet Lunch in Urubamba (Puka Punku Restaurant).

We will continue our tour through the Sacred Valley to Ollantaytambo to visit its Inca-ruins is the second archaeological place in importance after Machupicchu.

After the tour your guide will let you at the train station to take the train to Aguas calientes (Machupicchu).

Arriving to the train station there, we will be waiting for you to go to your hotel. Where our guide will contact you to give you the last recommendations you’re your next amazing tour in the morning.

DAY 8: VISIT ONE OF THE NEW  7 WONDERS OF THE WORLD: MACHU PICCHU! (B, L)

We start our tour to Machu Picchu in the morning taking the bus up to Machu Picchu citadel to explore one of the New World 7 Wonders. You will meet your guide at the entrance of the marvel where we are going to have our tour (approx. 2,5 hours), having enough time for the contemplation of the amazing scenery. We will explore the Intiwatana (Sun’s Shrine of Connection), the Kuntur Temple, the Three Windows Temple, Andean terraces, and other places of interest.

You will have enough time to walk around the archeological complex, capture these incredible memories on camera, feel and appreciate the energy and peacefulness of this sacred place. Another option – for those who like more action – is hiking up Huayna Picchu, the Young Mountain (prior booking is necessary). In the afternoon you will go back to the town to get your lunch and after take the train back to Ollantaytambo and return to Cusco by bus from there to finally overnight in your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 9: CUSCO – PUNO / TITICACA LAKE (B, L)

Trip to Puno / Lake Titicaca This is a long trip, but do not worry; It will be an interesting tour with special stops. We will visit the Church of Andahuaylillas, known as “The Sistine Chapel of America”, which has a simple facade but at the same time one of the most valuable jewels of colonial art in Peru.

We will also explore the archaeological complex of Raqchi, another important Inca city. Surrounded by beautiful hills, you will have your buffet lunch in the city of Sicuani.

We will enjoy the view and appreciate the lamas and alpacas, from the “La Raya” pass at 4310 meters / 14172 feet above sea level. And finally we will visit Pucará, a colonial city very famous for its ceramics. In the afternoon we will arrive at the city of Puno, located at 3,800 mts / 13,000 ft, where we will spend the night.

DAY 10:  PUNO – LAKE TITICACA (B,L)

Floating Islands of Los Uros / Taquile Island

This morning, after a 30 minute trip, we will arrive at the port of Puno, where we will take the boat that, in 20 more minutes will take us to the floating islands of “Los Uros”, made entirely of totora fiber (a native plant). The Uros community has prevailed for hundreads of years thanks to the continuous renewal of its soil with Totora and mud.

After exploring the islands of Los Uros, we will return to our boat, which in 3 hours will take us to the great island of Taquile, where we will see the terraces made by the Incas.

Here we will visit some local families, in whose houses we will have a traditional meal, after which you will have time to explore the island. In the afternoon we will take our boat to the city of Puno.

Day 11: FLIGHT TO LIMA – FAREWELL DINNER (B,D)

Transfer to Juliaca airport for your flight back to Lima; The rest of the day is free. This night, you will say goodbye to your Tour Manager and fellow travelers at a special farewell dinner with Peruvian specialties
