Trip Itinerary

 

Day 1 Arrival Peru

Early morning arrival in Peru’s capital, Lima. Connect to your flight to Cuzco. Upon your arrival in Cusco you’ll be met and transferred to our hotel in the Sacred Valley

During the drive, we will enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape, the rest of the day at leisure exploring the hotel, Also you can take a free Yoga Lesson, or optional tour to Pisaq Village & Market colorful Indian market in Pisaq where many beautiful crafts are traded. Later this evening our group welcome meeting takes place.

Day 2The Sacred Valley

We will get to Ollantaytambo, one of the most monumental architectural complexes of the ancient Inca Empire, Then, we will follow to the town of Ollantaytambo, “the unique living Inca town”: the best surviving example of Inca city planning, with narrow cobblestone streets that have been continuously inhabited since the 13th century. We stop for lunch afterwards we will visit Chichubamba community, with approximately 180 families. This territory has a great healthy climate, surrounded by green fields mostly farmland. Agricultural activity is their main source of income, which is supplemented with guinea pig breeding, apiculture or beekeeping and making crafts such as ceramics, brewing coffee and chocolate craft. Here you will learn many of these activities and experiences.

Day 3 Machu Picchu, Lost City of the Incas

In the morning we will take the train to Aguas Calientes, the town closest to Machu Picchu. Then we will take the bus up to Machu Picchu to explore one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. We will explore the Intiwatana (Temple of the Sun), the Temple of the Condor, the Temple of Three Windows, Andean terraces, and other places of interest. You will have enough time to walk around the archaeological complex, capture these incredible memories on camera, feel and appreciate the energy and peacefulness of this sacred place. Another option – for those who like more action – is to hike up HuaynaPicchu, the Young Mountain (prior booking is necessary). In the afternoon we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo and from there return to Cusco.

Day 4 Cusco Capital of Inca Empire

A day at leisure to explore Cuzco at your own pace. Walk the narrow streets of the old colonial town, browse the museums and shops selling local crafts and relax in one of the many outdoor cafes. optional Or you may also venture to the impressive Colonial Cathedral. Building was completed in 1654, almost a hundred years after construction began and the Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha), once the most important religious site of the Incas. From here, travel to the last Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman constructed of huge stones.

Day 5 Tambopata Rain forest

A short flight takes us to the jungle community. Upon your arrival in Puerto Maldonado, Peru´s Capital City of Biodiversity, we´ll board a motorized riverboat, and we´ll navigate on the Madre de Dios River. During the journey, we will submerge into a fascinating natural environment, if we are lucky we will witness Ronsocos, Caimans, Turtles, Herons, Cormorants and other animal species in their natural environment.

 

Arriving at the Eco Lodge, we will enjoy an exquisite welcome drink, we´ll get settled in our bungalows and will have lunch together.

 

Once satisfied, you will be conducted by our specialized local guide through an interpretive trail conveniently signposted to the Caiman Cocha, a small lake with an abundant presence of specimens of Black Caiman.

At the end of the evening, you will witness the spectacular sunset in the Amazon, an experience full of intensities overwhelming color ranges.

 

Upon returning to the Lodge, a delicious dinner will await you.

DAY 6 Monkey Island

After breakfast, we will start an adventure in the virgin rainforest, and accompanied by a local guide, we´ll go on a hike in the deep jungle, to get to the Lost Cocha which constitutes a refuge and feeding ecosystem for a huge variety of animals. There, we´ll have the chance to observe Otters, Caimans, Turtles, Sachavacas (Tapirs) Birds with multicolored feathers, the majestic Jaguar and a variety of fish species. Then, we´ll get to the extraordinary Observation Deck, from which we´ll be able to appreciate the immense and magical rainforest. Afterwards, we´ll have a pleasant canoe ride around the lake and will return to the lodge for lunch.

 

In the afternoon, accompanied by our specialized guide, we will visit Monkey Island, a unique place in the heart of Madre de Dios River, five minutes away from the Lodge. During the hike, we will observe extraordinary landscapes, with an exuberant flora, sheltering a variety of monkey species, in their natural habitat, such as Maquisapas, Capuchins, Small Lion Monkeys, Frailes, Cotos and other animal species like the Coati and Sloths and a great variety of birds.

 

Finally, we´ll back to the lodge we conclude the day with a pleasant dinner.

DAY 7 Departures

After a restful night’s sleep, the morning begins with the sound of beautiful birdsongs from the Amazon Paradise. In our dining room awaits a farewell breakfast before embarking the return to Puerto Maldonado and take the flight to Lima

Day 8 Lima “La Bonita”

You will have a free morning for last minute sightseeing and shopping.  Optional visit colonial Lima where you will see attractions like the Cathedral, the Viceroyalty of Peru, the main places of Lima’s Plaza Mayor (Main Square), the Government Palace, the City Hall, and other important monuments. Later we’ll visit the Convent of San Francisco, a seventeenth-century architectural complex that includes a church, a convent and a square. The facade of the church, which has an image of the Immaculate Conception painted on it, was carved in stone and is characterized by its Corinthian columns. You’ll also see the catacombs, a dark chamber found under the church.

At Night we’ll share one last dinner together before going our separate ways and continuing on to our next adventure with incredible memories that will stay with us for lifetime.
